Amani Care Services, a registered NDIS Provider, offers a wide range of care services. Our highly qualified staff deliver these services to NDIS Participants in the Melbourne suburb of Officer, as well as surrounding suburbs. Mental health nursing

Our mental health team are highly skilled and experienced. This enables them to support individuals in Officer and surrounding suburbs with mental health issues by:

At Amani Care, we have the belief that everyone deserves a home where they feel safe, secure, and able to pursue their interests. That’s why we offer supported independent living options24/7 support, situated in the outer Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

We also provide short term accommodation (also called respite care) for up to 28 days within a year, as well as medium term accommodation of up to 90 days within a year.

We are proud to have a team of highly qualified and competent support workers who provide 24/7 care using a model of care that is based on evidence based practice.

Household and Domestic Support

We provide household and domestic support for people, including NDIS Particpants living in Officer with disability that prevents or restricts the household tasks they are able to do on their own. It means people with disability can remain living independently in their own home.

Development of Life Skills

Amani Care assist Officer individuals, including NDIS Participants, to have more control over the life they lead by helping them gain more independence and be more involved in the community.

The initial step is to take the time to understand goals of the participant. From this understanding, a plan is developed for the assistance needed for the individual to gain the skills needed. These skills are aimed at increasing independence, confidence as well as self-esteem.

assistance with daily personal activities

Amani Care provides both assistance and / or supervision for a range of personal activities for both individuals and NDIS Participants.  Where care is provided in the disabled person’s Officer home, the goal is to help them to continue living as independently as possible.  

Assistance with Daily Personal Activities we provide include:

  • personal hygiene, including showering, oral hygiene and dressing
  • eating and drinking
  • assistance with mobility – eg transferring out of bed
  • attending appointments – including medical appointments
  • assistance with the use of aids and appliances – including hearing and communication devices
  • toileting, bowel. bladder and menstrual care

assistance with daily personal activities - high intensity

High Intensity support is provided when a NDIS Participant has more complex needs. This assistance provided normally requires a higher degree of  skills and training. The level of assistance required is contained in a Participant’s NDIS Support Plan. The care can be provided in the person’s Officer home or supported living environment.

Assistance with High Intensity Daily Personal Activities we provide include:

  • Complex bowel care
  • Enteral feeding and management
  • Urinary catheter management
  • Ventilation management
  • Complex wound management
  • High risk of seizure
  • Pressure care and wound management
  • Stoma care

NDIS Positive behaviour Support

We use Positive Behaviour Support Plans to help in improving an NDIS participant’s behaviour. Our process begins with empathetically understanding any challenging behaviour, which can often be complex. These behavioral issues may impact learning, development, relationships, and the overall safety of the individual and those they interact with.

Challenging behaviour can take many forms and can include physical and verbal aggression towards others, damaging property and self injury. 

The Positive Behaviour Support plan is developed using  evidence-based research so that the treatment can focus on where the patient needs it the most.

Support Coordination

We can help you get the most out of your NDIS plan, as well as connect you with the services in Officer, or elsewhere. We are also able to help you navigate the often complex NDIS system.
